In the near future, those of you who have joined will be receiving your membership cards.

I would like to suggest our unit be named for the 10th Regiment, Tennessee Infantry (US) which was organized solely in Middle Tennessee. Regimental facts are as follows:

10th Regiment, Tennessee Infantry

Organized at Nashville, Tenn., May to August, 1862. Attached to Post and District of Nashville, Tenn., Dept. of the Cumberland, to June, 1863. 3rd Brigade, 2nd Division, Reserve Corps, Dept. of the Cumberland, to September, 1863. Defenses of Nashville & Northwestern Railroad to January, 1864. 1st Brigade, Defenses of Nashville, Tenn., January, 1864. 1st Brigade, 3rd Division, 12th Army Corps, Dept. of the Cumberland, to April, 1864. 1st Brigade, 4th Division, 20th Army Corps, Dept. of the Cumberland, to April, 1865. 1st Brigade, 4th Division, District of East Tennessee, to June, 1865.

If you have other suggestions, please share them, or let me know you approve of this suggested choice.

If you have not yet joined the Camp 62 SVR and would like to do so, please advise me via e-mail and I will return an application via e-mail. Dues for SVR membership are nominal at $7.00 per year.

Again, I wish to thank those of you who have decided to participate and invite those brothers who may be interested to join our ranks. Should you have any questions concerning the unit, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours in Fraternity, Charity and Loyalty

David M.
